About National Centre of Roof Insulation
Saves you money and reduce your bills
A major contribution (around 40%) of household power consumption is from cooling and heating. Proper insulation would help maintain the inner temperature of the house to the right comfortable level. That means, air-conditioning or heating would have to run far less, reducing energy bills for heating and cooling. In fact, homes can save and reduce up to 80% of their heating and cooling costs by just simply having their homes insulated. As a result, roof insulation would be considered a great opportunity to save money over the long term especially with a 21% rise in energy prices forecasted from 1st July 2009 by the government.
Its FREE!
The Rudd government has implemented a roof insulation rebate, which has commented on the 3rd of February 2009. This means that anyone who has insulation professionally installed in their homes after this date will be eligible for a $1600 rebate. The $1600 insulation rebate will be sufficient to cover 100% of the cost to insulate most households.
More Comfortable Living.
A properly insulated home especially with the roof well maintained will ensure the house remains at a comfortable temperature. During winter, insulation will help keep the hotness from heating system inside and the coldness of the atmosphere outside. On the other hand, in summer the opposite occurs to help maintain a cooler home. Therefore, the beauty of simply having your properly insulated will keep the house at a comfortable temperature with less of the cooling/heating efforts occurring.
Quieter home
A properly insulated home is much quieter as compare to a non-insulated home. Insulation works as a barrier to sound and can help sound proof the house from unwanted airborne noise transferred and other outside noises.
Helping sustain a better economy:
One of major reason for the roof insulation rebate was to improve the economy during a recession and create more jobs. Installing insulation now will help to stimulate more job opportunities (about 5000+ Jobs) at a time when unemployment rate is very high. As a result, this will help the Australian economy in its tough time through the flow on to related industries.
Achieve an Environmentally Friendly Ecological Footprint
40% of Australia’s greenhouse gases are produced from electricity consumption and heating/cooling account for around 38% of a typical home’s energy use. Properly installed roof insulation will keep home at a more comfortable temperature all year round. This means less requirement of heating and cooling leading to lesser greenhouse gases. In turn, the reduction in green house gas omission via the roof insulation rebate program will be comparable to reducing about 1 million cars on the road by 2020.
This will help Kevin Rudd achieve his objective to having most Australian households running at a 2 star energy rating by 2010
